Families Frolic at SBF’s Take Your Kid to Work Day

Our annual day of games, treats and just hanging out was a big hit with kids and grown-ups alike.

Lots of kids dream about growing up to be like their parents, but there’s something extra special about parents getting to see it! On July 6th, SBF hosted our annual Take Your Kid to Work Day: 28 kids of various ages brought the energy up for everyone, all while learning what accounting is really all about.

Every kid (and kid at heart) started the morning with some doughnuts, powering up for the scavenger hunt which took them throughout the office. With helpful adults and clever clues to guide them, each kid got a child’s-eye look into the day-to-day lives of their parents. The winners each took home a trophy, but everyone had a great time poking around and solving new riddles.

After lunch, participants took over the training room for a hugely popular project: Build-a-Bear stations for each kid to create a stuffed friend to take home. Lots of excitement and funny creatures emerged from the activity, showcasing all kinds of talents both from the kids and the parents who helped out.

What’s a summer day without a cold treat? The entire office took a break for the ice cream truck parked outside, to everyone’s delight. Finally, it was time for some quiet: The kids got cozy, complete with blanket forts, to watch Luca together.

We talk a lot about the professional pipeline, and while this bunch was a little young to start thinking about jobs, we hope everyone enjoyed their visit enough to keep us and accounting in mind for the future!
