Doug is a Senior Tax Manager at SBF and has been with the firm since 2015. He specializes in tax planning, research, and compliance for small and medium sized businesses in a variety of industries, as well as individuals. Additionally, Doug is the SBF subject matter expert on Qualified Opportunity Zones and oversees all efforts to help our clients with this tax benefit. Prior to joining SBF, Doug had a long career in corporate accounting, up to the level of Controller, gaining accounting and tax experience at local as well as large global corporations. He is always seeking to expand his knowledge and expertise in the field of tax in order to provide the highest level of client service, as well as to contribute to training and development of the SBF team.
Doug is a graduate of the University of Florida and took graduate level accounting courses at the University of South Florida. He is a Certified Public Accountant, member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants (FICPA). He is also a current member of the FICPA’s Editorial Committee. He has been a St. Petersburg resident his whole life. Outside of the office Doug and his wife enjoy outdoor activities and going to Rays games.
