Accountants value wellness too!

Discover how SBF prioritizes employees’ mental and physical well-being.

At SBF, we value people most, and it begins with our dedicated team. While we recognize the inevitability of busy seasons in our industry, we place a strong emphasis on the mental and physical well-being of our employees – not just during busy season but all year long. Several recent highlights of our commitment to this topic include Wellness Wednesdays, kickball, and Headspace.

This busy season, SBF is embracing Wellness Wednesdays. Every Wednesday from February to April will feature a program dedicated to nurturing the mind, body, or soul. By offering diverse activities such as a meditated walk, a farmers market, yoga, and massages, we encourage a balanced lifestyle and foster a healthy workplace culture. The goal is to enhance overall job satisfaction and productivity, creating a workplace where employees feel valued, energized, and equipped with the tools to maintain a healthy work-life balance. We want our team to thrive both personally and professionally.

SBF further promotes employees’ physical well-being through the kickball team, offering another excellent avenue for support. “Kickball inherently requires teamwork and collaboration. Organizing a kickball team allowed our relationships to extend beyond the typical work environment. The shared laughter and camaraderie fostered through friendly competition have created a lot of great memories. Playing in a recreational kickball league has been a ton of fun, not to mention an opportunity to get some fresh air and physical activity”, says SBF kickball team organizer and Talent Acquisition Specialist, Kiana Lunay.

On the side of mental well-being, we have recently introduced Headspace as a new wellness benefit. Headspace, an app that offers meditations for sleep, focus, and movement, is now available to our employees, along with five of their friends and family members through the Family Plan. This resource showcases our commitment to emphasizing work-life balance at SBF. Now, our team not only has the opportunity to engage in Headspace sessions together but can also extend this practice to include their families outside of working hours. This initiative not only supports individual well-being but fosters a sense of shared mindfulness within our SBF community.
